Os X Upgrade To Catalina

Guide: Update Directly to macOS Catalina. Update your existing Clover install to version r4910 or higher using MultiBeast or official Clover package. Open Clover configuration folder on the root of your system drive or EFI Partition using EFI Mounter v3.

In order to upgrade to the dizzying heights of Catalina your Mac must have Mac OS X Mavericks as its minimum OS

requirement. As you are on Lion you will need to do an intermediate OS install. Mavericks is no longer available.

You can still get El Capitan (10.11.6) from here, How to upgrade to OS X El Capitan - Apple Support

  • The Catalina saga has converted me to a new upgrade policy, which is to wait until the final release of each yearly update. I will go from Mojave 10.14.6 to Catalina 10.15.6 and so on. I see this as the only viable option if Apple is to persist in the forced annual macOS update cycle, which clearly results in major bugs getting through.
  • Apple plans to release macOS Catalina in the fall. Find out if your Mac is on the list of devices that fully support the new OS, or if you need to upgrade your hardware to run the latest version.
  • While you’re waiting for the OS to stabilize, you want to keep macOS Catalina up to date, but Apple makes it difficult to see just how to do that. While you’re still on macOS Catalina, if you open System Preferences and select Software Update, you’ll see the icon for macOS Big Sur with an obvious “Upgrade Now” button.

go to Section 4 and click on Get Mac OS X El Capitan, this will download a .dmg file which you then

double-click to start the installation.

After El Capitan is installed then you can upgrade to Catalina, but if you are not aware yet Catalina does not run 32bit apps.

So I would suggest you install Mojave again and all the apps you would use, Upgrade to macOS Mojave - Official Apple Support

Once you have determined what apps you had previously on Mojave that were 32bit and whether or not the developers of those apps are updating them to 64bit then you can consider Catalina. Use this app, https://www.stclairsoft.com/Go64/ to check for 32bit apps.

Uninstall 32-bit apps before upgrading to Catalina

Before you upgrade to Catalina, we recommend that you uninstall your 32-bit Adobe apps. Older uninstallers are also 32-bit apps and don't work in Catalina.

If you already upgraded to Catalina, you can use the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool to uninstall older versions of Creative Cloud apps.

If you've kept Acrobat DC or Creative Cloud apps up to date, they are already 64-bit compliant.

You can update your apps using the Creative Cloud desktop app. See how to update your apps to the latest versions.
